Sinenzuzo Kubeka (21), a young lady from Delmas who has been pursuing her career in ladies’ football since her teenage years, was signed by Hollywoodbets Super League Team, Copperbelt Ladies Football Club on January 31, 2024. Sinenzuzo shared how she feels since joining the football club. “I feel excited, unreal, just an amazing feeling, and this feeling keeps me energized and pumped up throughout the day,” she expressed.

The most influential people in Sinenzuzo’s soccer career are her mother and aunt. Sinenzuzo explained the process of how she was chosen and signed by the ladies’ football club. “I was chosen by the football club because I showed them that I have a strong work ethic and that I’m willing to put in the effort to improve and contribute to the team,” she spoke.

The pre-game ritual performed by the ladies’ football club includes having a quick chat with the coaches on how to focus when playing and doing some warm-up exercises. Since joining the football club, the biggest game they played was against the University of Western Cape (UWC), which ended in a draw with a score of 2-2, last weekend. Sinenzuzo emphasized how she handles the pressure of big games. “I just stay focused and remain calm while my mind is thinking about the game. Also, not having a negative mindset helps to avoid the pressure,” she emphasized.

Her favorite stadium to play in is the Orlando Stadium because watching Banyana Banyana’s game against Brazil motivated her a lot. Sinenzuzo’s specific league she dreams of playing for is Manchester City (The Women’s Premier League). She shared some advice to young girls pursuing their career through soccer. “Never give up and know that your time is coming. You don’t decide; only God can. Just work hard, be disciplined, and stay humble; the rest shall follow,” she spoke.
