EMALAHLENI – Department of culture, sports and recreation MEC Fidel Mlombo made his first official visit to eMalahleni in honor of Nelson Mandela month.

The MEC visited Mogalitwa Primary School, Klarinet Library, and Thanduxolo Special School.

His department donated 822 new books for the school’s library.

He encouraged the learners to use the books to expand their knowledge and understanding on various topics, emphasising that nothing is beyond their reach through education, listening, having a teachable spirit and a willingness to learn.

The MEC then engaged in grass cutting, tree trimming as well as tree planting activities at Klarinet Library, a stone’s throw away from Mogalitwa school.

He made his last stop at Thanduxolo Special School, where a donation of food was made for the school’s feeding scheme. The MEC committed to adopting the school and visiting it at least once a year.

MEC Mlombo was accompanied by officials and staff from his department as well Nkangala District councillors.

Emalahleni municipality council Speaker, Mduduzi “Mswati” Nkosi, was also part of the initiative.

He emphasized the importance of community involvement and the impact of education and development on future generations.
