Emalahleni – The newly appointed executive mayor of Emalahleni municipality, Vusi Nhlapho, commenced his initial 100 days in office with a visit to the infamous Emalahleni General Hospital.
This gesture followed a groundbreaking commitment he made subsequent to his election as mayor on July 26, 2024.
Mayor Nhlapho emphasized that the visit, as his inaugural official act, symbolized his unwavering dedication to the community.
The event encompassed expressions of gratitude and the distribution of sustenance to the patients.
He provided tasty meals to the children, bringing brightness to their day. “This marks merely the inception of our collective journey,” he articulated. “I am profoundly appreciative of the faith the community has bestowed upon me.”
The mayor urged the hospital personnel to dispel any negative perceptions of substandard service within the institution.
He pleaded with them to labour diligently and commit themselves to the preservation of life, in addition to upholding the Batho Pele principles.
He pledged to conduct regular visits to the hospital to safeguard the welfare of both the staff and the patients. “I wish to extend my personal gratitude to the dedicated individuals here,” he added. “I assure you that there will be numerous more interactive visits in the times ahead.”
Sister Sindane, a nurse at the hospital, conveyed her gratitude for the mayor’s visit. “We are thankful, Mayor Nhlapho, for gracing us with your presence. We anticipate your support in our times of need.”
It constituted a meaningful inception to what promises to be a proactive and compassionate administration under Mayor Nhlapho, affectionately known as MaSeven.
