eMalahleni – Blacksam a versatile radio presenter, DJ, entertainer, and artist who has left a significant mark on the entertainment space.

Possessing a strong educational foundation in radio production from Boston and National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), he engages audiences and delivers exceptional shows.

Originally known as Mthokozisi Concard Mpila, Blacksam started his radio journey at Greater Middleburg FM in January 2019, hosting a popular show until August 2019.

Subsequently, he joined Emalahleni FM in 2020, captivating listeners with his entertaining demeanor. Following three years on the Breakfast Show, he shifted to the afternoon drive slot, where he hosts a renowned show.

Besides radio, Blacksam is a resident DJ at NewsCafe Witbank and previously at Cappello Witbank. He organized a well-attended solo performance to showcase his DJing skills.

As an artist, he released his first single “Ngibuyekile” on major digital platforms, inspired by a Monday morning hangover.

He excels in essential skills for his roles, including radio hosting, DJing, content creation, interviewing, and music production.

Blacksam stands out for role in community radio, gaining recognition alongside national broadcasters, reflecting impact of community radio.

Blacksam enjoys connecting with audience through radio show, focusing on local topics to keep content engaging.

Blacksam who said he was influenced by DJ Madumane of Ligwalagwala FM to pursue radio, advises budding presenters to be “authentic, listen to audience, tell meaningful stories, stay humble, keep learning and be open to growth”.

He has recently been nominated for Best Radio Presenter at Mzansi Arts and Media Awards (MAMA) for the Best Radio Presenter category.
