Kwaggafontein – An incident rerrefed to as demonic, has sent shocking waves in the community of Kwaggafontein in the Thembisile Hani municipality.
This follows the discovery of a woman’s body with her private part mutilated and burnt.
An unidentified woman’s body was found next to the infamous Moloto road (R573) on Tuesday, 27 August 2024.
Still trying to recover from the shock, William Jali, a resident, has expressed his concern about the incident he said has become a trend in the community. “There is a bad spirit that is roaming around in KwaNdebele these days, my younger brother the late Dj Clicks was shot dead in Thembalethu on July, where 3 of them were victims,” he said.
He further urged all the believers to be on their knees for the casting of this bad spirit, “I’m urging all the pastors and believers to unite in prayer and fight this demon”
Acting Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has spoken out strongly against this tragic event, labelling it a significant setback in the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. “It is disturbing to see such a heartless act, especially during Women’s Month. The life of a young woman has been cut short, which highlights the urgent need for us to come together as a community and put an end to this evil,” he stated.
The investigation is still in its early stages, and details surrounding the murder remain sparse. Police have reported that parts of the victim’s body may have been removed, and an autopsy is expected to provide more clarity on the circumstances of her death.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities are urging anyone with information that could help catch the culprits to come forward.
