Johannesburg – Cricket South Africa (CSA) have partnered with Hollywoodbets to support women’s cricket in the country.
The betting operator is now the main sponsor of the CSA Professional Women’s League, which is now called the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.
The partnership was announced at an event in Sandton on Wednesday, 28 August 2024.
The captains of the teams in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series talked about how well they did last season and how excited they are for the next series.
The partnership seeks to level the playing field for South African women cricketers, from different backgrounds.
It’s also happening at a time when women’s cricket is becoming more popular around the world. CSA is a member of South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) as well as International Cricket Council (ICC).
“We welcome this all-important partnership with Hollywoodbets and we look forward to the immense possibilities it will present to professional women’s cricket and the broader landscape of women’s sports. Hollywoodbets has brought about a refreshing perspective to women’s sport,’’ said CSA chief executive officer, Pholetsi Moseki.
“Through this partnership, the Hollywoodbets Pro Series is set to embark on a journey of unprecedented growth and success by unearthing and nurturing new talent, while redefining the future of women’s cricket in South Africa and beyond.”

Devin Heffer, Hollywoodbets brand and communications manager, shared his sentiments saying the partnership represented an exciting chapter in the history of cricket in South Africa as the women’s domestic game turns professional.
“We’ve seen tremendous success in women’s football through our sponsorship of the Hollywoodbets Super League, and now we look forward to making a lasting impact on women’s cricket with the Hollywoodbets Pro Series. Our country has incredible talent waiting to be unearthed, and with this enhanced platform, we can discover the next Nonkululeko Mlaba or Chloe Tryon,’’ he said.
“Working with CSA, we aspire not only to make cricket an attractive and lucrative sport for women across the country, but also to use the influence of these cricketers to pay it forward through grassroots projects and sports development. Let the Hollywoodbets Pro Series begin.”
