For the past few years residents of Hlalanikahle ward 2 in Emalahleni had been battling of having a proper bulk infrastructure.
The residents rejoiced as the Provincial Human Settlements together with the Emalahleni Local Municipality Technical Services team began providing the community with bulk infrastructure.

Explaining the aim of project, MMC for Technical Services, Mduduzi “Mswati” Nkosi said, “We are not fixing the road but providing but we are providing bulk infrastructure services to plus 300 stands at C section newly formalized stands. Also providing infrastructure the community in with water and sanitation services.”
“All I can say is that Rome was not built in a day. So the community must not be afraid to ask questions about the project. They must work together for the sake of development and the contractor is open and willing to assist where he assistance is needed the most. This is their infrastructure that they must safeguard,” he said. Sarah Zitha, a resident in Hlalanikahle said, “We are very happy with this project, hopefully it will open more job opportunities to the unemployed.”
