Daybreak, a leading poultry producer, announced on June 17, 2024, that its efforts to stabilize the business are yielding positive results, with forecasts indicating a strong recovery.
According to CEO Richard Manzini, “As we recover from recent challenges, including bird flu, prior performance issues, and employee absenteeism, which impacted production, we recognize the need for stability and are committed to positioning Daybreak as an employer of choice in the region.”
Management has identified a critical area for improvement – the company culture. Concerted efforts are underway to understand employee issues in the communities and ensure Daybreak serves all employees’ interests. The company remains committed to open communication and has implemented plans to maintain uninterrupted production, fairness to employees across the value chain, and efficient plant operations.
“We are determined to mitigate operational inefficiencies, protect employee rights, and ensure sustainability for all employees,” added Manzini. “We cannot allow a large contingent of employees’ not reporting for duty to impact our entire operations and jeopardize the salaries of dedicated employees across the value chain. In order to have uninterrupted production, we have appointed a service provider to assist in making sure we keep to the commitments of our customers. We will continue to explain the reasons behind our labour force solutions and ensure they benefit the organisation, to secure the sustainability of the business.”
Daybreak reaffirms its commitment to turning the company into a profitable entity, as communicated on various platforms. The CEO emphasized that the company will protect the rights of all employees while ensuring sustainability for everyone employed.
