EMALAHLENI – Casca Nkosi, an alleged member of the MK Party, has been detained on multiple charges of rape. The 39-year-old man, residing in the eMalahleni sub-region, faces 13 counts of rape committed in eMalahleni and an additional 24 counts in Hendrina.

Police investigations revealed a disturbing pattern of alleged sexual assaults against young girls, some as young as seven years old. Through meticulous detective work, the police identified Nkosi as the primary suspect. He was apprehended while appearing in court in Vosman on an unrelated assault charge.

The community of Mpumalanga is in shock and outraged. Speaking on behalf of the MK Party, Commander Treasure Thabede of the Mkhondo sub-region strongly condemned these alleged heinous acts.

“The MK Party will not be a shelter for rapists,” Thabede declared. “These children will never be the same again.” Thabede urged the community to stand united against these crimes. “All men of Mpumalanga must stand up against this evil man and demand that he rots in jail,” he stated.

The incident highlighted the urgent need for increased vigilance within communities to protect children. Thabede warned, “We might be living with serial murderers and rapists without even knowing it.” He also emphasized the importance of community awareness and vigilance to prevent such horrific crimes.

Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, commended the police for their swift action. He stated, “We are confident that the team of detectives and prosecutors will build a strong case against this suspect to ensure a conviction and bring justice to these young victims.”

Nkosi appeared in the eMalahleni Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 20, 2025, facing thirteen counts of rape. He was remanded in custody and will return to court on Monday, January 27 for a formal bail application.
