DELMAS – Simon Mohale, also known as ‘Futuremfana’ (33), is an Actor, Mentor, Facilitator, Adjudicator, and event MC from Delmas, Delpark, who recently shared insights into his career with Highveld Chronicle. A self-motivated individual, Mohale possesses a profound passion for entertainment. He elaborated on how he manages his various engagements. “I predominantly work with gigs, most of which occur during the day. While I occasionally have night shoots, they are rare. When facilitating, I adhere strictly to time frames, ensuring I meet deadlines. As for mentoring, MCing, and adjudicating, my involvement depends on the events, with bookings predominantly falling on weekends,” he explained.
Mohale’s affinity for the entertainment industry dates back to his youth. Growing up in a financially disadvantaged family, he couldn’t afford luxuries like a bicycle, which led him to feel out of place among his peers. He recounted the pivotal moment when he discovered his passion for his career path. “As a child, the only place I felt I belonged was the church near my home, where I encountered a group engaged in art, drama, gumboots dance, kofifi, and singing. Upon expressing interest in joining them, I was warmly welcomed, and it was then that I realized my passion for entertainment,” he emphasized.
Having portrayed diverse roles, including a lawyer in The Wife series, a hitman in Gomora, a CEO in Diep City, a warden in Muvhango, and an extra in My Brother’s Keeper series, Mohale reflected on his initial experiences appearing on television screens. “Initially, it was daunting, challenging, and frightening. However, I reassured myself that I was capable. Starting as a background actor, my perseverance, dedication, and hard work propelled me to greater heights,” he expressed. Mohale has committed to give back as he serves on a various arts programmes where he nurtures the talent of the youth and young school children.
