Middelburg – On Friday afternoon, 26 September 2025, police were alerted to the discovery of two dismembered bodies on a farm near Kranspoort, along the N11 Groblersdal road.
The bodies, not yet identified at this stage, were found abandoned with their heads, hands and feet cut off.
“Upon receiving a report from the community, officers arrived at the scene to find the dismembered bodies of two victims. To ensure a thorough investigation, all relevant personnel, including specialised units, were called in to process the scene,” said Colonel Fundiswa Maphanga. “A murder case has been officially opened, and we have detained three suspects who are currently being questioned.”
Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murders. One of the sources close to the investigation said preliminary reports suggest that the victims were shot and killed on one of the farms before their bodies were mutilated and abandoned on the neighbouring farm.
A farm worker discovered that a fence separating their property from an adjacent plot had been cut. Upon closer inspection, he stumbled upon blood stains, which he decided to follow. The traces led him to the neighbouring area, raising suspicions that this was where the bodies had been dragged from.
Following this alarming discovery, the worker promptly alerted his employer, who in turn contacted the police.
Maphanga also urged anyone who might have valuable information regarding the circumstances of the murders to reach out to their local police station, call the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111 or provide tips through the MySAPS App. “Rest assured, all shared information will remain strictly confidential,” Maphanga said.
The investigation is ongoing.
