DELMAS – The Delmas Kaizer Chiefs Branch 2210 brought warmth and joy to 23 learners at Vezimfundo Primary School when they generously donated school shoes on 12 June 2025.

This act of kindness highlights the branch’s commitment to uplifting their community, going beyond their passion for football.

Vezimfundo Primary School chairperson, Paul Mehlape, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, noting the difficulties learners face during the cold winter months.

“We are grateful for the donation made by the Kaizer Chiefs fans,” said Mehlape. “There are many challenges, and it’s winter now. Thank you, Kaizer Chiefs supporters.”

The donation forms part of a broader initiative by the Delmas Kaizer Chiefs branch to support disadvantaged learners. According to Paul Masilela, chairperson of the branch’s supporters’ group, the programme will be extended to other schools, offering essential items such as sanitary pads and learning materials.

“Our programme doesn’t end here,” Masilela said. “We will request lists from various schools to assist more learners in need.”

The initiative has been applauded even by rival supporters. Orlando Pirates fan Xolani Sibiya, popularly known as Dube, praised the Kaizer Chiefs branch for embodying the spirit of Ubuntu — fostering a caring and compassionate society.

“We must adopt this beautiful programme,” said Sibiya. “We thank the Kaizer Chiefs branch for showing us a gesture of love and peace.”

This heartwarming effort illustrates the positive role that sports communities can play beyond the pitch. The Delmas Kaizer Chiefs branch’s commitment to giving back serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of kindness, unity, and community spirit.
