MIDDELBURG – Thirty deserving learners from L.D. Moetanalo Secondary School in Mhluzi, Middelburg, received winter school uniforms, thanks to the generosity of a local driving school owner.
The uniforms were handed over on May 26, 2025 during a special ceremony held at the school.
As winter temperatures begin to drop, the initiative seeks to ensure that learners stay warm, comfortable, and focused on their education. This act of kindness not only promotes academic success but also restores dignity and self-esteem among the learners.
Nicholas Ntimba, owner of Learn Easy Driving School, said the academy felt a responsibility to give back to the community. “We identified 30 deserving learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. As winter approaches, they too deserve to stay warm like other children,” he said.
“This is not a once-off donation—we plan to extend this initiative to more schools around Middelburg. I hope other businesses and members of the community will join us, whether by donating or helping us purchase more uniforms. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.”
The school expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely donation, which reflects the driving school’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the local community.
Acting Principal Tebogo Mokone said the gesture came as a major relief. “Most of the learners who received uniforms come from extremely poor backgrounds. Some used to attend school wearing torn casual jerseys, which negatively affected the school’s image. In many cases, they were sent back home to change into proper uniforms so they could look like other learners. This donation will have a significant impact on their academic focus and overall confidence,” he said. This initiative highlights that Learn Easy Driving School is not only dedicated to teaching driving skills but also to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
