Kriel —The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) held a sub-regional meeting in Kriel/Ganala this past week. Led by Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, the MKP’s provincial convener, the meeting aimed to offer both political guidance and moral support to the regional interim leadership.

“We are here to support them as the provincial detachment and also to give them a political report,” said Advocate Mkhwebane. “Currently, Emalahleni has 34 wards awaiting approval from the democratic board, with 135 voting districts and VDs. Our presence here is to ensure they receive the necessary guidance and support to strengthen their efforts.”

Heading the regional structure is Vincent Mabena, supported by key figures including organiser Ally Nkosi and Vice chair Zandile Vilakazi from Emalahleni. The meeting served as a vital touchpoint between the provincial and regional arms of the party, emphasising strategic planning and unity ahead of upcoming political milestones.

The session carried a strong sense of purpose and collective vision. Discussions focused on increasing grassroots mobilisation, preparing for electoral activities, and strengthening the MKP’s visibility and effectiveness within the Mpumalanga region.

Regional leaders, including Comrade Mabena and Organiser Nkosi, expressed deep appreciation for the provincial leadership’s involvement. They reaffirmed their dedication to building stronger community ties and ensuring that the MKP remains a dynamic political force in the region.

“The support from the provincial leadership is not only encouraging, but essential,” said Mabena. “We are fully committed to mobilising the community and building solid structures that reflect the MKP’s core values.”

This sub-regional engagement highlights the MKP’s broader ambition to unify its members across regions..
