MIDDELBURG – In a heart-warming tale of talent and determination, 9-year-old Angelina Mndebele from Middelburg is gearing up for a historic journey to Bangkok, Thailand, in August. This young starlet, whose name has already begun to echo in the halls of fame, is set to represent Middelburg at the prestigious Magnificent Women Icon (MWI) event.
Her journey to the international stage began with a local triumph in a spirited competition held on 6 April 2024. She participated in the Little Miss Nkangala International Village title contest. With grace, charm, and undeniable charisma, Angelina captured the hearts of the judges and the audience alike, earning the coveted title.
Now, with her sights set on Bangkok, Angelina is poised to showcase not just her beauty, but also her intellect, talent, and the spirit of South Africa to the world. Her journey symbolises more than just a quest for a crown; it represents the aspirations and dreams of a nation rooting for its youth to shine.
Desisile Ncgongwane shared her excitement about her daughter’s journey. “Watching her embark on this thrilling pageant journey fills my heart with pride and joy. I know she will shine on stage, not just with outer beauty, but with the luminous spirit that makes her truly remarkable.”
As the young star prepares for the trip, she is filled with excitement and determination. Delisile also shared what the opportunity means for her little princess. “It is not just an opportunity to dazzle on stage, but a chance to embody the values of resilience, perseverance, talent, and poise,” she said.

Delisile has also requested donations from members of the public towards Angelina’s support. “Every contribution will help cover travel expenses, accommodation, and other essential needs during her stay in Bangkok,” she appealed.
