DELMAS – In a heart-warming gesture, non-profit organisation Phezukomkhono donated school shoes to 40 learners at Mdumiseni Primary School on Tuesday, 8 April.
“This is more than just giving shoes — we are restoring dignity and boosting confidence,” said Makhosini Madinane, Phezukomkhono member and South African Communist Party( SACP) representative. “When children are properly dressed, they are more likely to attend school and focus better.”
The donation brought visible joy to learners, some receiving new shoes for the first time. “Now I won’t have to wear my broken shoes anymore. I’m very happy,” said a Grade 6 learner.
Joel Mahlangu from Sasol added, “Donating school shoes motivates learners to go to school. It’s a small thing with a big impact.”
Mdumiseni SGB chairperson Sibusiso Mabena thanked the organisation: “We truly appreciate this kindness. We hope they continue helping other schools in need.”
Victor Khanye Council Speaker Henry Ngoma said the initiative showed the value of working with NPOs. “This is how we build better communities. When we work together, we change lives.”
