PHOLA -The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Highveld Forum Association hosted an exceptional Women’s Day event, commemorating the remarkable strength and unwavering commitment of women capable of nurturing over 50 children.
The event spotlighted the invaluable contributions of these women to the community and emphasized the significance of early childhood development.
On August 07, 2024, the Early Childhood Development Forum Association celebrated Women’s Day at Sibonelo Nursery School in Phola, within the eMalahleni municipality. Within this organization, there exists another group known as the “Widow Mamas,” which inspires women to continue their predestined lives.
Key stakeholders present at the event included representatives from the Department of Health, social workers, and nutritionists. Their involvement underscored a comprehensive approach to supporting early childhood development, ensuring the holistic well-being of children encompassing health, social welfare, and nutritional requirements.
The celebration showcased motivational speeches and cultural performances, all aimed at honoring the resilience and nurturing essence of these exceptional women.
The ECD Highveld Forum Association remains dedicated to empowering and supporting women in their pivotal role of molding the future through early childhood education and care.
It was an indelible day brimming with affection, joy, enlightenment, and enduring memories as proficient women congregated to share their inspirational narratives of overcoming obstacles, attaining triumph, and uplifting one another.
Collectively, they celebrated the strength of female solidarity, epitomized by the ethos of “a queen never falters”. This poignant reminder illustrated that through mutual support, women have the ability to triumph over any adversity.
Among the speakers was the founder of Xola Xolisa Xolela, Thokozile Skhosana, who urged women to incorporate a daily ritual of gazing into the mirror, making eye contact with themselves, smiling, and reciting positive affirmations before applying makeup. “I am a woman of unique beauty, a victor, a force to be reckoned with, for God has bestowed upon me a purpose, making me extraordinary,” she articulated.
She recommended that women regularly review and update their benefits, beneficiaries, wills, and risk provisions to mitigate financial uncertainties. “Through this proactive approach, women can fortify their financial security and self-assurance for the future,” she elucidated.
Nombuso Nxumalo, a nutritionist, enlightened the audience on the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fitness regimen.
She emphasized, “Prioritize evaluating carbohydrate intake before indulging, particularly during dinner.”
Moreen Mnisi, the host, extended gratitude to all attendees and encouraged widows not to shy away from love. She expressed, “Let us persist in nurturing our children, for their parents entrusted us with their care.”
