DELMAS—Relebohile Freddie Ndebele, a prominent figure in various fields such as philanthropy and pageantry, is now making his mark in the acting world. As the CEO of Hope of Hopeless Youth Centre, Ndebele has long been dedicated to uplifting young people. His passion for making a difference led him to compete as Mr. Mpumalanga 2023/2024 under the ABM Foundation. Speaking on his inspiration for acting, Relebohile shared, “I was inspired by the thrill of bringing characters to life and telling captivating stories.

Growing up, I was fascinated by movies and theatre, and I wanted to be part of that magic. My motivation was sparked by a powerful performance that moved me to tears and made me realise the potential of acting to connect with others and evoke emotions.” Regarding his role in Shaka Ilembe, Ndebele revealed that he portrays a young warrior embarking on a journey of self-discovery and bravery.

While he remains tight-lipped about specific details, he expressed excitement about taking on more challenging roles that showcase his range and versatility as an actor. Looking to the future, Ndebele’s goals in the entertainment industry include becoming a household name both in South Africa and internationally, winning prestigious awards for his performances, and producing and directing his own content to create opportunities for emerging talent. “My biggest inspirations in African drama are Mondli Makhoba and Nkanyiso Mchunu,” Ndebele said.

“Mondli’s incredible range and authenticity make him a true master of his craft, while Nkanyiso’s fearless approach to complex roles and his ability to convey vulnerability and strength inspire me deeply.” Balancing his creative pursuits with his work, Ndebele emphasised the importance of discipline, time management, and self-care.

He concluded, “It’s essential to set clear boundaries between work and creative pursuits, schedule dedicated time for acting projects, and prioritise self-care to maintain energy and focus.” As the community of Delmas rallies behind him, Ndebele’s star continues to rise, with exciting prospects ahead in the world of entertainment.
