EMALAHLENI – For many children, a pair of school shoes is more than just footwear—it’s a step toward confidence, dignity, and a brighter future. Recognising this need, Z.i Sisters launched its school shoe donation initiative on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Nkonjane Primary School and Alex Mampana Primary School.
The initiative aims to provide essential footwear to underprivileged learners, ensuring they can focus on their education without the burden of worn-out or missing shoes.
Speaking on behalf of Z.i Sisters, Prince Sibiya emphasised the company’s commitment to uplifting the community. “Every child deserves the dignity of wearing proper school shoes. Today, we managed to visit two schools, and we will continue with the initiative next week to ensure that underprivileged children in schools receive their pairs,” said Sibiya.
Emalahleni Municipality’s MMC Cllr Mokwana, Acting Executive Mayor Cllr Faith Msibi, Ward 16 Cllr Sizwe Buthelezi, and Speaker of the Council Cllr Mduduzi Nkosi came to support the initiative.
MMC Mokwana praised the initiative, stating, “Blessed is the hand that gives, than the hand that receives.” She further commended Z.i Sisters for their ongoing community involvement. “We appreciate all the work that Z.i Sisters is doing. In our time of need regarding transportation, they are always there, and now to see them also take part in this drive is amazing. We are truly grateful and appreciative.”
Excitement and gratitude filled the air as learners received their new shoes. Teachers expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting the positive impact on the students’ confidence and ability to focus on their studies.
“We are grateful to Z.i Sisters for taking an interest in the lives of our learners and donating school shoes. We appreciate it, and may God continue to be a blessing in their lives so they can continue to bless others,” said Principal Magagula.
Sibiya reassured that the initiative will continue in the coming days, reaching more schools as planned. “This is just the beginning. We want to ensure that no child in these schools has to walk barefoot or in worn-out shoes. Education is the foundation of a better future, and we are proud to contribute in any way we can,” he added.
